thursday threads [oversized sweater & leggings]

Thursday, December 19, 2013
can i just point out that forever 21 is having quite the moment with their sweater collection? i mean, have you checked it out?

the one i've got on was maybe $30 and it's perfectly oversized, warm, and [wait for it] fits me!

pairing a longer cardigan, sweater [especially an oversized one], or long vest with your leggings and support cami is probably my favorite way to go. especially since it's so cold out lately!

[forever 21 sweater (in stores), target maternity support cami, old navy maternity leggings, old navy long-sleeved maternity shirt, stuart weitzman 5050 boots, h&m scarf (in stores)]

stay tuned for my top 5 leggings of 2013 in tomorow's friday favs!

wear it wednesday [fur & leggings]

Wednesday, December 18, 2013
now, another easy combo for a cute [but comfy] look for legging week is to add a swingy top to your leggings and support cami.

the one i'm wearing is from the asos maternity line [totally love] scored when they were having a 30% off sale. [quick tangent, their customer service is amazing. my code wouldn't work because i hit the "back" button and they got me a new one that day. me likey].

to bring everything together, i've been reaching for my vests lately [probably because my usual blazer go-to's don't fit me no' more]. vests can be used as a finishing piece just like jackets and blazers. this one is from my pjk patterson j. kincaid army coat i bought last year. it was pricey, but with the amount of use i got [and am still getting] out of both the coat and this vest, it was totally worth it.

i'd rock this look on a casual date with my husband. and with the weather we're having, i'd probably swap those booties out for over-the-knee boots.

tuesday threads [chambray tunic & leggings]

Tuesday, December 17, 2013
let's start off with a painfully easy combination. what do you get when you add a tunic to your leggings and support cami? why, a super comfy outfit for at home. or going out if it's not -25 degrees outside.

i got this chambray baby at j.crew factory for practically free last week when the had their 50% off plus 20% off plus 40% off [and a free tote when you spent more than 25 cents. i'm kidding. except about the 50% off plus 20%]. it pairs great with the leggings and actually covers the belly, [so naturally, i got it in white too].

i was super comfortable all day in this, my behind was covered, and i didn't have pants on. all wins in my 27.5 week pregnant book.

[j.crew factory chambray tunic, old navy maternity leggings, target merona maternity support cami, ash boots, target scarf (old)]

[bump shot! sorry about my face]

up next tomorrow - date night leggings!

two for tuesday [legging week]

ladies and gentlemen. boys and girls. children of all ages. mamas-to-be and no-pant aficionados. i bring you... LEGGING WEEK!

what is legging week, you may be asking? why, it's only the best week ever.

you see, after a certain point in a woman's pregnancy [i'd say week 1], pants become incredibly constricting. so constricting, in fact, that they stop fitting all-together.

so what's a gal carrying a human life [or two] to do?

the answer? you guessed it... leggings!

now leggings aren't technically considered pants, and while i agree with this terminology to a degree, i also am of the mindset that as long as your ass[ets] is covered, what's the harm? [who's with me?!]

i'd like to show you how you can take a pair of [glorious] old navy maternity leggings from lounging around the house, to date night, to going out in the brisk chill of this here winter that's seemed to have hit the northeast full force. all you need as a base for these outfits are:

legging week

so buckle up. because legging week, legging week is magical.

friday favs [a very merry wishlist]

Friday, December 13, 2013
friday favs [a very merry wishlist]

it's that time of year, boys & girls, time for gifts and good cheer.
time for good food & family, those far and those near.
it's time to make all your holiday wishes come true.
wait, hang on, i mean mine - here's my wishlist for you!

if you're paying attention and looking for a hint,
the following presents sure would make me grin.

first off, i lost my most favorite pair of sunglasses.
they fell off of my shirt and stuck like molasses
to either the floor of a local DD,
or somewhere in produce junction; don't know where they could be!
so if you want to help lessen my squint,
these exact ray bans are your first big hint.

next you may have noticed, i've become quite the glutton
my growing belly makes things real hard to button.
i'd love this next item, you'd sure be the best,
if you gifted me with this sweet shearling vest!

i'm also having trouble putting on shoes.
to be honest my calves just give me the blues.
but if these brown suede boots make it under the tree,
they'll fit over my calves and make me giddy!

now what's a plain tee shirt without some cute bling?
a j.crew bib necklace would be just the thing.
it would help me adorn all my maternity frocks
even if i'm just sitting at home in sweatpants and socks.

now lastly you're thinking, natalie's lost her mind
what's this item doing here for you to find
if you're stuck, can't decide, it's just as well
because i will never, ever say no to chanel.

so there you have it, my little old list
i don't think there's much that i may have missed.
oh but wait, i forgot, my biggest wish is for you
to have a very merry christmas, and a happy new year too!

[i'm lame, get over it.]

thursday threads [a date with carlo]

Thursday, December 12, 2013
i had a great time when i stopped by the grand opening of the king of prussia carlo pazolini location!

[me with the always stylish lulu of simply lulu style]

as one of their newer stores, it has a gorgeous, bright concept, clearly displayed beautiful italian leather and suede - not to mention silk scarves/handkerchiefs - and friendly, knowledgeable sales staff.

i rocked my carlo pazolini booties [with that gorgeous gold heel detail] and fell in luuuurve with a pair of suede knee-high boots which were 30% off. [sadly, i was being good and left empty handed] but if you stop by, check out some of the awesome sales they have going on!

[carlo pazolini boots (c/o)]

[next time, my pretties, next time]

be sure to follow the brand on facebook, instagram [@carlopazolni], and twitter [@carlo_pazolini] for announcements, details, and sales!

oh and one more thing [it pretty snowed]

Wednesday, December 11, 2013
if you live in the northeast, you may or may not have noticed that it snowed a little yesterday. and by a little, i mean that i got a "snow day" and got to work from home in my new j.crew factory flannel pjs. it was glorious.

on my way to work this morning, i noticed that it not only snowed, it "pretty snowed", where the snow covers the tree branches and grass, with the roads nice and clear.

and even though i was no longer wearing flannel pjs and it took me 10 minutes to hoist my tory burch boots over my calves this morning, the drive in was magical.
