thursday tales [10 month update]

this is horribly late and she's closer to 11 months than 10 months now, but on january 6th we celebrated lily's 10 month birthday!

this month lily:
  • cut two teeth! the bottom two, to be exact [and now we no longer call her toothless]
  • still nursing at least once a day [i'll be weaning her by 12 months]
  • weighs over 19lbs
  • standing like a champ
  • walking with her vtech walker
  • scooting around holding on to furniture
  • says "baba" to my mom's extreme delight [it means grandmother in russian]
  • pees in her little potty [we're working on getting her to go consistently]
lily likes: puffs [and more puffs], standing, walking, the remote control/ipad/iphone/anything electronic she knows she can't have, tylenol [she basically shakes with glee when she sees the little syringe], baths, other kids, and beau.

lily dislikes: getting her nose wiped, not being allowed to do what she wants, being overtired, and when the puffs are gone.

we went through a lot this past month. we had our first bout of the stomach bug [and i say "we" because lily gave it to all of us], finally got some teeth [with some crazy teething still going on]. we've had a little bit of sleep regression where she wakes up at 3am crying and i bring her into bed with me because she just wants her mama [and i'm ok with that because i get snuggles]. and first birthday planning has officially begun!

i recently read this amazing post on whitney's blog about savoring the moments with your baby because babies don't keep. so i'm consciously trying to take in every single second with my little girl while she's still my baby [although that's never going to change no matter how big she gets... i get it now, mom!]

mama monday [class pass philly & a fitness update]

oh hi. remember me? 

[right, me neither].

just took a 2+ week blog break, no biggie. 

since my last post when i boldly aired my new year's resolutions, we've been sick. then sick again. then i had jury duty for a whole week! but in the brief moments of health and free time, i joined class pass and finally completed the kayla itsiness bikini body guide [that's me showing off week 0 vs. week 12 in the picture].

i absolutely love the kayla itsiness workout. in fact, i'm starting 2.0 this week [check out my instagram, natalie_hodak for weekly updates] partly because helloooo results and partly because i can do it at home rather than a gym.

but i still love my yoga classes. there's nothing like being in front of a group of students or a part of them letting the instructor guide you through poses. it's where my mind finally shuts off. i love the studio where i teach but sometimes it's fun to branch out.

happy new year!

happy new year, you guys!

like always, we spent new year's eve with my side of the family. this year was a little quieter, with us trying [and failing] to not wake the baby up at my parents' house. there's no other people I'd rather ring in the new year with!

as for some 2015 resolutions, well, here's my list:

1) simplify. specifically my [now overwhelming abundance of] clothes

2) spend more quality time with family. more family outings, more date nights

3) continue on my fitness journey. complete my yoga teacher training, start teaching more classes and complete the kayla itsines bikini body 2.0

so there they are, nothing crazy, and probably pretty predictable, but it's where I want to be in 2015!
